The Original Skyrockets with their tour bus in Pecos, Texas.  The bus was sponsored by radio station KNEL in Brady, Texas.  From left to right are Sanford Kendrick, Bob Kendrick, Clifford Kendrick, and their father, Brooke "Doc" Kendrick.  This 1935 photo was taken before the boys commenced their recording career and Bob changed his name to "Skyles."

No this is not a real "color" picture.  It's an old black and white publicity shot, which has been subjected to a bit of colorizing by your friendly image editor.

Subsequent to my coloring and posting of this photo, I received a message from Sanford Kendrick in which he states: "The old bus was more or less barn red.  I painted it with a brush.  Your job looks better than mine."
